    Breaking Dawn Part 2

So I finally got around to watching Breaking Dawn Part 2 and I have to say, I loved it! This was the best film in the series, by far: the makeup and lighting finally seemed to match the story. They started the film right where Part 1 left off, with Bella waking up as a vampire. The performances were definitely the best so far as everyone finally seemed to truly inhabit the characters they portrayed. And I loved seeing all of the "witness" vampires and their powers. The new characters had so little time in the books, but you came to know them better in the movie. It was great seeing all of the new vampires, but they left out most of the werewolf sub-story.

My only real complaint was about Renesmee. I know that they would have had trouble finding babies and children that looked enough alike to appear to be the same girl, but her face didn't always match up quite right. However, the girl they chose for the 7-10 year old Renesmee, Mackenzie Foy, was perfect. She looks enough like both Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson to be believable as their child, and she really is a beautiful little girl, so it worked.

This movie had the best pace of the Twilight films. There was enough action to keep the story moving and the added scene at the end, written by Stephanie Meyer, was incredible. While all of the books are written from Bella's perspective for the most part, this movie seemed to show things from the viewpoint of other characters at times, which made the story flow better. I've watched this movie three times now, and it's still my favorite. I'm glad Breaking Dawn Part 2 was the final film, because it's always nice when a series goes out with a bang!

    Breaking Dawn on Bluray

    Target
This is my favorite of the Twilight films so far. The lighting and coloring are so much better than in Twilight and the characters are much more developed, too. Breaking Dawn will be available on February 11th, 2012.

Several stores are planning midnight release parties with special editions of the DVD and Blu-ray. Walmart has created a wedding dress cover for their special edition. Target has one of the flowers from the wedding scene encased for display and numbered with a certificate of authenticity. I do believe I will attend the Target release and yes, I will probably buy the flower edition, even though it is more expensive. I have already submitted my theater ticket photo for the coupon and I hope it will arrive in time. Target will be giving out tickets to purchase the film beginning at 9PM on February 10th. They will be showing a preview of Breaking Dawn, Part 2 at 11PM and the DVD and Bluray will be available for purchase at that time. I haven't been to a midnight release in ages and I'm looking forward to this one.

    Breaking Dawn, Part 1

    Summit
I love the Twilight books and movies. I can't wait for Breaking Dawn, Part 1, which arrives in theaters November 18, 2011. Several photos have been released from the film, as well as an awesome trailer. It's fun to see the different reactions the characters have when receiving Bella and Edward's wedding invitation.

The photos can be found at Fandango on their Breaking Dawn page. I love the way they have Bella and Edward playing chess in a few of the photos. I think it's a lot of fun the way they've included the imagery from the book covers in the movies.

    Breaking Dawn invitation

You are cordially invited to the wedding of Isabella Marie Swan and Edward Anthony Masen Cullen. The wedding will take place today at 5 o'clock in the evening. Unfortunately, the wedding won't reach the big screen until the movie debuts November 18.

    Twilight Books

I am a total fan of the Twilight series. I love the books and the movies. We recently go a new used bookstore here that is owned by the same company that owns Books a Million. It's called 2nd and Charles and I believe they only have two stores. The have a fantastic selection of used books and some new books as well as DVDs, Blu-rays, and Video Games.

A few months ago, I was looking for some books I need to fill out a few series that I like to read over and over and I noticed that they had several copies of the Twilight books. I already had some of them, but they were paperbacks, so I thought I'd look at the hardcovers. They had a hardcover, special edition of Breaking Dawn, in perfect condition, and it wasn't even expensive. I was ecstatic! Then yesterday, I went in to pick up some Jan Karon books for my Grandma, and I found a special edition copy of New Moon and it still had the tattoos in the back! Even better, it was only $6.80. And most amazing of all, it was actually an Autographed Copy!! I'm in total Twilight heaven! I love books!!

    Twilight: Official Illustrated Guide

So, my sister got me the new Twilight Saga: the Official Illustrated Guide for my birthday last week. I haven't read most of it yet, because it's a few inches thick, but so far, it's awesome. It has back story for most of the characters, illustrations of how Stephanie Meyer saw the characters and places, the history of the Volturi and the Quileute wolves, key plot points that form a timeline, maps, playlists for each of the books, and much more. It is absolutely fascinating and fills in a lot of the blanks, although there weren't that many to begin with. It is an interesting look into the thought processes that Stephanie used to create the books as well as information that she couldn't find places to include in the books. This guide is well worth the price and a must have for any true Twilight fan.

    New Moon Bluray

Well, in the end, I didn't go to the midnight release party, although I heard it was a great, well organized affair. However, I did buy the Bluray Ultimate Fan edition at Wal-mart. Mind you, I had to go to two different stores to get it, but it was worth it. I just got a Bluray player this last Christmas, so I don't have very many Bluray movies yet. I was surprised at how much better Blurays can be. You can see all of these details that are blurry or obscured on regular DVD. While I wouldn't replace all of my DVDs with Bluray just yet, they are fantastic for movies with a lot of fast-paced action or period pieces where you actually want to see the details of the clothing. Anyway, the extras on the Ultimate Fan edition of New Moon are fantastic. There are tons of behind the scenes looks that are only available in this set. So, while I missed the party, I'm happy with the end result.

    New Moon

I'm a total Twilight fan, so I just had to mention that the New Moon DVD is coming out tomorrow. I'm considering going to a Release Party tonight, but can't decide. I'm not exactly a teenager and so I'm not sure I want to be there with a million teenage girls. On the other hand, there will probably be a lot of Twi-Moms there, so that wouldn't be too bad. I'm thinking about trying a Wal-Mart party this year. Well, we'll see how it goes. Now I just have to decide between Bluray or regular DVD. Hmmm....
