Happy Halloween

It's Halloween! It's Halloween!
The moon is full and bright
And we shall see what can't be seen
On any other night.

Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls,
Grinning goblins fighting duels,
Werewolves rising from their tombs,
Witches on their magic brooms.

In masks and gowns
We haunt the street
And knock on doors
For trick or treat.

Tonight we are
The king and queen,
For oh tonight
It's Halloween!

Another The Mandalorian Trailer Has Arrived

Disney/Lucasfilm
The second trailer for The Mandalorian is here and it looks amazing. It will be interesting to see a story from the Star Wars universe from the perspective of someone not central to the main saga.

The Mandalorian arrives on Disney+ when the service debuts on November 12.

These Universal Monsters Mystery Minis Are Frightfully Delightful

A Rolie Polie Olie Halloween

Disney
I love watching Rolie Polie Olie holiday episodes, especially the Halloween stories. The Polies are getting ready to celebrate Zowie's first Spookie Ookie Day, and Olie can't wait! It's the most adorable Halloween story.

This Lady and the Tramp Trailer is Very Nostalgic

    Disney
When Disney+ debuts on November 12, one of the movies it includes will be an all-new, live-action retelling of Lady and the Tramp.

This new film, which was shot in Savannah, Georgia, features real rescue dogs as the main characters. It has quite the voice cast, with Justin Theroux as Tramp, Tessa Thompson as Lady, Sam Elliot as Trusty, Janelle Monae as Peg, Ashley Jensen as Jock, and Benedict Wong as Bull. If the trailer is any indication, it should be quite good.

Traveling on the Skyliner is a Fantastic Way To Fly

I finally had the chance to ride Disney's new Skyliner between Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. It was wonderful!

The vents at the top and bottom of each gondola allow for a delightful breeze, which keeps the gondolas cool.

The character designs on the outside of many of the gondolas are fun to look at from the outside, but can impede the view from the inside. You do have to switch lines at the Caribbean Beach Resort station, but switching is very easy.

The Skyliner is a fantastic way to travel between Art of Animation, Pop Century, Caribbean Beach Resort, and the upcoming Riviera Resort as well as Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

    Disney
The next time you plan to park hop between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, try the Skyliner. You'll be glad you did!

EPCOT Food and Wine Festival Coins

The new collectible coins from EPCOT are pretty cool. I have a set from the Flower and Garden Festival earlier this year and a new set of four coins was released for the Food and Wine Festival. There are four coins in the set: Chef Figment, Chef Mickey, Chef Remy, and Chef Minnie.

All 4 have the EPCOT  International Food and Wine Festival logo and the year on the back. The coins are either $5 a piece, or $10 for 3 and the machine takes $1, $5, $10 Bill's or a credit card. While it would be cool if they offered the full set for a reduced price, I just chose 3 each time. The coin machine can be found inside Port of Entry.

This Jungle Cruise Trailer Is Hilarious!

    Disney
Next year's Jungle Cruise movie looks absolutely hilarious. There seem to be quite a few jokes from the ride and a few moments that remind me of one of my favorite classic movies, African Queen. I can't wait to see it!

Here's the official synopsis from Disney:

Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, Disney’s Jungle Cruise is an adventure-filled, Amazon-jungle expedition starring Dwayne Johnson as the charismatic riverboat captain and Emily Blunt as a determined explorer on a research mission. Also starring in the film are Edgar Ramirez, Jack Whitehall, with Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti. Disney’s Jungle Cruise opens in U.S. theaters on July 24, 2020.

    This Onward Trailer Is Hilarious!

    Disney/Pixar
The first full Onward trailer has arrived and it looks fantastic. The Lightfoot brothers have the chance to spend one more day with their dearly departed dad. Unfortunately, things don't quite go according to plan.

Here's the official synopsis from Disney and Pixar:

This spring, Ian & Barley’s quest beginneth. Set in a suburban fantasy world, Disney and Pixar’s “Onward” introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there.

Onward arrives in theaters on March 6, 2020.

Appleseed Orchard At The EPCOT Food And Wine Festival Is Amazing

One of the new booths at this year's EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival is all about apples. The Appleseed Orchard booth is located inside the theater for the O Canada 360° movie. The name pays tribute to Johnny Appleseed, an American settler who became a legend as he planted apple trees across the midwest.

Inside, the room has been transformed into a giant fair tent, with streamers and lights across the ceiling.

There are two area for ordering: the Wine Bar, which features wines and a charcuterie board, is on the left, and the Cider Bar, which features caramel corn and ciders, is on the right.

The popcorn popper at the Cider Bar is decorated with an image of Johnny Appleseed as he appeared in Disney's classic cartoon.

The Frozen Apple Pie is absolutely fantastic! It features layers of apple pie filling, apple cinnamon slush, and pie crust crumbles. It is my favorite drink at this year's festival.

The Caramel-Apple Popcorn is a bit pricey at $10, but it tastes delightful and comes in an adorable souvenir apple. The popcorn is green and caramel colored and does taste like caramel and apples.

Outside in the Kidcot area, there's a display with an old-fashioned cider press and crates of many different types of apples. Overall, the Appleseed Orchard booth is a delightful experience and I can't wait to stop by again on my next trip to EPCOT'S International Food and Wine Festival.

Disney's Not So Spooky Spectacular Fireworks Look Incredible

    Disney
Disney has created an all-new fireworks show for this year's Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. The Halloween Party fireworks have been my favorite for years, so I'm excited to see how this new show stacks up. The Not So Spooky Spectacular Fireworks are hosted by Jack Skellington and feature projections, lasers, and lots of fireworks.

Disney shared a live stream of the fireworks recently and they looked incredible. (This video has since been removed.)

Doesn't it put you in a Halloween mood? If you'd like to see the show in person, tickets are still available for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on select nights through Halloween.

    Quote of the Week

    Disney
    Gather 'round and I'll elucidate
What goes on outside when it gets late
Along about midnight the ghosts and banshees
They get together for their nightly jamboree
There's things with horns and saucer eyes
Some with fangs about this size
Some are fat and some are thin
And some don't even wear their skin
I'm telling you, brother, it's a frightful sight
To see what goes on Halloween night

When the spooks have a midnight jamboree
They break it up with fiendish glee
The ghosts are bad but the one that's cursed
Is the headless horseman; he's the worst
That's right, he's a fright on Halloween night

When he goes a joggin' 'cross the land
Holding his noggin in his hand
Demons take one look and groan
And they hit the road for parts unknown
Beware! Take care! He rides alone

And there's no spook like a spook that's spurned
They don't like him and he's really burned
He swears to the longest day he's dead
He'll show them that he can get a head

They say he's tired of his flaming top
He's got a yen to make a swap
So he rides one night each year
To find a head in the hollow here

    He likes 'em little
    He likes 'em big
Parted in the middle or a wig
Black or white or even red
The headless horseman needs a head

With a hip, hip and a clippity clop
He's out looking for a top to chop
So don't stop to figure out a plan
You can't reason with a headless man

Now if you doubt this tale is so
I met that spook just a year ago
Now I didn't stop for a second look
But made for the bridge that spans the brook
For once you've crossed that bridge, my friend
    The ghost is through
    His power ends

So when you're ridin' home tonight
Make for the bridge with all your might
He'll be down in the hollow there
    He needs your head
    Look out! Beware!

With a hip, hip and a clippity clop
He's out looking for a head to swap
So don't try to figure out a plan
You can't reason with a headless man

    The Skeleton Dance

    Disney
It's October, so it must be time once again to share one of my favorite Disney shorts, The Skeleton Dance. This delightfully macabre little cartoon, the first of the Silly Symphonies, celebrates its 90th anniversary this year.

    Frozen 2 "Into the Unknown"

    Disney
The latest poster for Frozen II looks fantastic. Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven are headed on an adventure "Into the Unknown", which happens to be the name of an all-new song from the film. You can hear a clip of it below.

Frozen II looks, and sounds, pretty amazing, doesn't it? Want to know a little more about the story? Here's the official synopsis from Disney:

Why was Elsa born with magical powers? What truths about the past await Elsa as she ventures into the unknown to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond Arendelle? The answers are calling her but also threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she'll face a dangerous but remarkable journey. In “Frozen,” Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In “Frozen 2,” she must hope they are enough.

Frozen II arrives in theaters on November 22.
