Beauty and the Beast Final Trailer

Disney
The final Beauty and the Beast trailer made its debut on the Bachelor last night. The new trailer features the title song, sung by Ariana Grande and John Legend. It also gives us a few glimpses of new scenes between Belle and her father, and Belle and the Beast. It just looks better and better.

If you can't stand the long wait until March 17, when the film arrives in theaters, you're in luck. Starting February 10, guests visiting Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios can watch at eight-minute preview inside One Man's Dream. A preview will also be playing in California Adventure for Disneyland guests.

Angela Lansbury Singing Beauty and the Beast

Disney
Last fall, for the 25th anniversary of Beauty and the Beast, a celebration was held at Lincoln Center. Angela Lansbury, who voiced Mrs. Potts in the animated film, sang the theme song again that night. Though she is now 90 years old, it was just as sweet and beautiful as ever. So here's a little music to brighten your Monday from a lady I've always loved.

Quote of the Week

Once upon a time, in a faraway land, a young prince lived in a shining castle. Although he had everything his heart desired, the prince was spoiled, selfish, and unkind. But then, one winter's night, an old beggar woman came to the castle and offered him a single rose in return for shelter from the bitter cold. Repulsed by her haggard appearance, the prince sneered at the gift and turned the old woman away. But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances, for beauty is found within. And when he dismissed her again, the old woman's ugliness melted away to reveal a beautiful enchantress. The prince tried to apologize, but it was too late, for she had seen that there was no love in his heart. And as punishment, she transformed him into a hideous beast and placed a powerful spell on the castle and all who lived there. Ashamed of his monstrous form, the beast concealed himself inside his castle, with a magic mirror as his only window to the outside world. The rose she had offered was truly an enchanted rose, which would bloom until his 21st year. If he could learn to love another, and earn her love in return by the time the last petal fell, then the spell would be broken. If not, he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time. As the years passed, he fell into despair and lost all hope. For who could ever learn to love a beast?

New Breakfast Options in the Magic Kingdom

Photos courtesy of Disney
Now that the Magic Kingdom's Main Street opens early, you'll probably need to find breakfast. Luckily, Disney has added several new breakfast options. First up is a wild new hotdog from Casey's Corner. Called the 45th Anniversary Celebration Dog, it features hashbrows, shredded cheddar, fried onion straws, bacon, and a chipotle ranch drizzle. If you're not feeling quite that adventurous, you can also get corn dog nuggets, muffins, bagels, or a croissant donut.

At the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, you'll find a donut sundae. It's a donut topped with your choice of flavor of Edy’s ice cream, cinnamon apples, chocolate and peanut butter chips, whipped cream, hot fudge, chocolate Mickey ears, and a cherry. If that's too much sugar, try the Mickey waffles with strawberries and bacon, or a donut, muffins, fruit, or cereal and milk. The cereal is available either with the Mickey pants kitchen sink bowl, which costs and additional $10, or without.

Finally, check out the new waffle from Sleepy Hollow. It has a scrambled egg with cheese, ham, and tomato slices. You can also get my favorite waffle with Nutella and fresh fruit.

All of the breakfast items will be available until 11 AM. The hotdog and donut sundae are available all day.

Tsum Tsum Display

I've spent the last few years searching for the best way to display my ever growing collection of Tsum Tsum plush. Recently, I came across these shadow boxes in the $3 section at the front of Target. They are the perfect size to squish in 15-16 Tsum Tsums, and they fit together in a flower shape. I put 10 together in a double flower on my wall, which left an additional space for Tsum Tsums in the center of the flowers. It holds a ton of the little critters and you can see all their adorable little faces. So cute! And I've got a little bit of room left for more. It really was the perfect solution.

Beauty and the Beast Soundtrack

With iconic music and lyrics written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, the soundtrack for Beauty and the Beast has long been a favorite of mine. The original soundtrack featured songs sung by the cast as well as the orchestral score. A title duet, which played during the end credits, featured Céline Dion and Peabo Bryson.

The soundtrack for the live action version of the film will have similar tracks. We heard Emma Watson sing as Belle in a TV spot that aired recently. The title duet will be remade, and feature John Legend and Ariana Grande. A new song called "How Does a Moment Last Forever" will be performed by Céline Dion. The soundtrack for Beauty and the Beast will arrive in stores on March 10.

Quote of the Week

My ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes.

Tsum Tsum City Collection

Yesterday's Tsum Tsum Tuesday saw the release of several mini sets, all celebrating famous cities around the world. There are various Mickeys and Minnies (and a Donald, Stitch, and Angel) in clothing representing each city. I love these new sets, especially London and Chicago.

Mickey is dressed as a Royal Guard and Minnie makes an adorable Queen in the London set. The box looks like Big Ben.

For Paris, Mickey and Minnie are dressed as locals with berets and striped shirts. I especially like Mickey's mustache and glasses. The box looks like the Eiffel Tower.

In Italy, Mickey is wearing a toga and Donald is dressed as a gondolier. The box looks like an Italian bus.

In Chicago, Mickey and Minnie are dressed like popular foods. Mickey makes an adorable Chicago Dog and Minnie makes a very cute deep dish pizza. The box looks like the "L" Train.

On to New York. Here, Mickey is disguised as the big apple, while Minnie is wearing an "I Love NY" shirt. The box looks like a taxi cab.
Finally, there are two different Hawaii sets. In the first, Mickey are wearing Polynesian print outfits. Mickey is ready to surf, while Minnie is going to snorkel. The box looks like a beach scene.

The last set is Stitch and his girlfriend Angel, ready to hula. They come in a themed box that says "Hawaii 01".

Pop't Art Recipe from EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

Disney

The new EPCOT International Festival of the Arts sounds like a lot of fun. The Festival takes place every weekend, from Friday to Monday, between now and February 20. Featuring music, visual arts, and amazing eats, this Festival seems to have it all.

There are eight Food Studios surrounding the lagoon, each showcasing a different artful approach to eating. The dishes include everything from the ultra chic at Cuisine Classique, to the playful Pop’t Art, a sugar cookie filled with Nutella and fancifully decorated, at Pop Eats.

If you can't make it to the newest EPCOT Festival, you can make the Pop’t Art at home. Here's the recipe.

Disney
Pop’t Art
Yields 6

Ingredients:
1/2 c sugar
1 c butter
1 egg white
2 1/2 c all-purpose flour, sifted
1/8 tsp salt
6 Tbsp Nutella
1 1/2 c powdered sugar
3-4 Tbsp milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
Food coloring

Directions
Cream sugar and butter with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add egg white and beat for 1 minute. Add flour and salt and beat at medium speed until a soft dough forms. Cover and chill for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 300°F. Roll dough into a rectangle, approximately 1/4 inch thick, on a lightly floured surface. Cut into six, 3x5 inch rectangles. Place on parchment lined baking sheet and bake 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool for 30 minutes.

Spread 1 Tbsp of Nutella on each cookie, leaving an 1/8 inch border around the edge. Make the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, 3 Tbsp of milk, and the vanilla. Add additional milk if the glaze is too thick. Reserve 2 Tbsp of glaze in a small bowl. Dip each cookie, Nutella side down, in the remaining glaze to cover the chocolate. Allow to dry. Tint reserved glaze to your desired colors with food coloring. Use a fork to artistically drizzle the colored glaze on top of the cookies.
