Spider-Man: Homecoming Posters and a Vulture Clip

Two new posters for Spider-Man: Homecoming popped up this week. The first one (above) is for the domestic market. It features all of the main characters, masked and unmasked: Spider-Man and Peter Parker, Iron Man and Tony Stark, Vulture and Adrian Toomes, Aunt May, Zendaya's character (who may or may not be named "Michelle"), and Happy Hogan.


The poster for the international market features the heroes and villains of the film: Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Vulture. We learned a little more about Vulture and his origins on Ellen last week. Here's a clip showing how he acquired his tech.


Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theaters on July 7.

Cars 3 Sneak Peek at Hollywood Studios


Are you ready to race back into the world of Cars? From now through June 25, guests at Hollywood Studios and California Adventure can catch a sneak peek of Cars 3. At Hollywood Studios, watch the preview in One Man's Dream. At California Adventure, the 3-D preview is shown in the Bug's Life Theater and includes special effects.


Here's the official synopsis from Disney and Pixar:

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!

Cars 3 arrives in theaters on June 16.

Lego BrickHeadz


When I first saw the new Lego BrickHeadz, I wasn't sure if I liked them. But then Bean gave me Belle and the Beast for my birthday, and I have to say, when put together, they really are cute. The figures are about four inches tall and quite detailed.


On a recent trip to the Lego store, I discovered that they now have several different Brick Headz character figures: Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, and Black Widow from Marvel's Avengers, and Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Salazar from Pirates of the Caribbean.


There were also four figures from the Lego Batman Movie: Batman, Robin, Batgirl, and the Joker. The BrickHeadz figures cost $9.99 each and are available at Lego stores and from Lego.com.

Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer 3

Spider-Man is trying to just be a "friendly neighborhood Spider-Man" to make Tony Stark happy. But that's hard to do when Mr. Stark disables his suit with the Training Wheels Protocol. It looks like this one is going to be fun.

Pirates of the Caribbean Inspired Clothing at Kohl's


Kohl's and Disney have teamed up to create a very cool collection of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales inspired clothing. There are several different shirts and dresses, most of which are not your typical fan gear. They are a very subtle nod to the colors and fashions of the series.


I really like this flowing Bohemian top with red embroidered flowers.


This lace-up t-shirt is more obviously Pirates, with the Black Pearl emblazoned on the front.
They also have a new makeup collection from Lorac. The packaging is gorgeous, as are the colors. But at $52 for the eye shadow palette, it's a bit expensive for the average fan.
The eye shadow palette says "Treasure in the stars" and looks like Captain Jack's compass.
The cheek palette says "Verum omnia simul astra" and was inspired by Carina Smyth's journal. On the inside, the mirror says "Chart a course for the stars."

Darkwing Duck POPVinyls


"Let's get dangerous!" If you grew up in the 80s, you probably remember watching Darkwing Duck. The adventures of the caped crusader who fought crime, with the disastrous help of Launchpad McQuack, were a favorite in my house. Next month, Darkwing, Launchpad, and the masked duck's adopted daughter, Gosalyn Mallard, will be immortalized in POPVinyl.

Launchpad may be my favorite. He looks rather earnest, which seems appropriate.

Sleeping Beauty Tsum Tsums


The most adorable Tsum Tsum set arrives at the Disney Store today: the Sleeping Beauty collection. The collection features 9 Tsums: Aurora in both her blue and pink dresses, King Stefan, Prince Phillip and his horse Samson, Maleficent's Raven Diablo and a Goon, and the Rabbit and Owl that Briar Rose danced with Once Upon a Dream. Maleficent and her dragon form were released in a previous set.


A second Sleeping Beauty set is also being released today. It features Briar Rose and the three good Fairies, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. I love the Rabbit and Owl wearing Prince Phillip's cloak, hat, and boot!

Happily Ever After Debut

Last night saw the debut of the new Happily Ever After show at the Magic Kingdom. The show looked pretty amazing. I especially liked the Brave and Moana segments. And I am very glad that they kept Rapunzel's lanterns and Tinker Bell's flight, which were my favorite parts of the old projection show. Check it out and let me know what you think. There have been several great TV Spots for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.  Here are a few of my favorites.


Only Captain Jack would find pants an unnecessary intricacy.

Dancing Baby Groot Sipper at Hollywood Studios



I love this new Dancing Baby Groot sipper from Hollywood Studios. His arms move, so it looks like he's dancing. So adorable! The pot says "I am Groot" on one side and "Guardians of the Galaxy" on the other. The sipper cup comes filled with your choice of fountain drink for $12.75 and is available from the popcorn carts near Grauman's Chinese Theater.

Descendants 2 on Dancing With the Stars

The VKs from Descendants were on Dancing with the Stars last Monday to promote the upcoming Descendants 2. They performed a medley of "WICKED" and "Rotten to the Core", which was very entertaining. Descendants 2 arrives on the Disney Channel on July 21.

Star-Lord and Baby Groot Meet and Greet


Did you know that you can meet Star-Lord and Baby Groot at Disney's Hollywood Studios? They are currently meeting guests in a Guardians of the Galaxy themed area inside One Man's Dream. I had the chance to meet them recently and I loved it.


Baby Groot is so cute! He dances and says "I am Groot!" It's too fun. Star-Lord is very chatty and charismatic. And he loved my Groot Dorbz from Funko, although he really hoped his Dorbz didn't have such a big head. Make sure to stop in and meet Star-Lord and Baby Groot on your next visit to Hollywood Studios.

The music in Guardians of the Galaxy seemed made for the movie. Although many people probably wouldn't have recognized the titles, or perhaps even some of the artists, on Awesome Mix Vol. 1, those of us who grew up in the 80s remembered those songs. From the opening scene, which features "Come and Get Your Love" by Redbone, I knew I would love the soundtrack. At the end of the film, Peter Quill uncovered a new cassette from his mother, called "Awesome Mix Vol. 2"

Awesome Mix Vol. 2 is the soundtrack for the second film. The songs are meant to represent Meredith, Peter Quill's mom, and the music she loved enough to share with her son. This soundtrack includes songs from more recognizable performers, such as George Harrison, Fleetwood Mac, and ELO. I was glad to see a Cat Stevens song in the mix, since that's what I grew up listening to. The final song, "Guardians Inferno" which director James Gunn co-wrote, features vocals by David Hasselhoff, one of Quill's childhood heroes.
