Beauty and the Beast Egg

Beauty and the Beast Egg

For the last several years, the Grand Floridian at Disney World has hosted an incredible display of Easter eggs made of chocolate and sugar. The eggs, which generally feature Disney characters, are hand crafted by Cast Members and used to be displayed in the lobby. Some eggs returned from year to year, and new eggs were added as well. This year, the display is quite different with fewer eggs spread out around the second floor.

This Beauty and the Beast egg, created by Cast Member Yadi, was on display in 2024. The inside featured the Enchanted Rose while the Beast and Belle in their finery appeared on the outside. The scene was incredible and the egg rotated so that you could see every element.

Amaury Guichon's Beauty and the Beast

Chocolate Lumiere and Rose
Amaury Guichon

Amaury Guichon's latest Disney chocolate sculpture was inspired by Beauty and the Beast, which has always been my favorite fairytale. He created both an incredible chocolate enchanted rose under a sugar dome and a very lifelike Lumiere.

Gorgeous, right? I can't wait to see what design he creates next.

Beauty and the Beast - Postmodern Jukebox

Postmodern Jukebox
Postmodern Jukebox

My sister introduced me to the most amazing musical performers. Postmodern Jukebox take the modern songs we know and love and change the era to change the style. It's so much fun! Here's their vintage jazz version of "Beauty and the Beast".

Postmodern Jukebox is currently on tour. I can't wait to see them!

Beauty and the Beast Funko POPs

Beauty and the Beast 30th Anniversary
All images: Funko

Can you believe it has been 30 years since Beauty and the Beast first made its debut in theaters? The tale of the kind and clever girl who melts the heart of the gruff and beastly prince has always been my favorite fairy tale and Disney’s animated version is truly wonderful. To celebrate its enduring success, Funko has created a new collection of seven POPVinyl figures and two variants.

There are 2 Belle figures. In one, she's wearing the blue village dress and holding the enchanted mirror with the Beast's image. In the other, she's wearing the pink winter dress and click and holding a bird. An Amazon exclusive Diamond Edition is also available. Beast appears as he was preparing for the ball, with his silly curled hair. He looks suitably disgusted. Lumiere is ready to burst into the chorus for "Be Our Guest", wearing his candle snuffer as a top hat.

Gaston has come a'courtin' in his finest, much to Belle's dismay. Cogsworth appears as his usual stuffy self in the first figure. The second is a Funko.com exclusive and features Cogsworth when he landed in the pie during "Be Our Guest". The Chase is mostly in shades of grey.

These figures, which are currently scheduled to be released sometime in March, would make a delightful addition to any Beauty and the Beast fan's collection. The are available for pre-order from Amazon and other retailers now.

As Long As There's Christmas

Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas
Disney

Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas is still one of my favorite Disney Christmas stories. And this song, "As Long As There's Christmas," is the most beautiful one in the movie.

The 2019 Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail was an absolute delight. The Beauty and the Beast tree was my favorite. I loved mosaic stained glass ornaments of Mrs. Potts, Chip, Cogsworth, and Lumiere.

Maurice's Drawing Machine

The character art displayed at the 2019 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts was so much fun. This portrait of Belle, drawn by an invention created by her father, Maurice, was one of my favorites.

My, What A Guy, That Gaston!

Disney
When Disney made the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast, they found the perfect pair to play Gaston and LeFou. Recently, Luke Evans and Josh Gad got together once again, virtually of course, to sing "Gaston" alongside composer Alan Menken, for the Disney Family Singalong. It was fantastic!

The character topiaries at the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival are a lot of fun. This one of Chip from Beauty and the Beast was part of the 2009 festival.

I love Disney's "Learn to Draw..." series on YouTube. It's so much fun to try your hand at drawing a favorite character. In the latest video, you can learn to draw Chip from Beauty and the Beast. He's so adorably happy!

Days in the Sun from Beauty and the Beast

Disney
I love all of the new songs that were added to the live action Beauty and the Beast. "Days in the Sun" is from the scenes where Belle takes care of the injured Beast after he saved her from the wolves.

Quote of the Week

Disney
As long as there's Christmas
I truly believe
That hope is the greatest
Of the gifts we'll receive
As long as our guiding star
Shines above
There'll always be Christmas
So there always
Will be a time
When the world
Is filled with peace
And love

Tsum Tsum Series 8

I love the tiny vinyl Tsum Tsum collectibles from Jakks Pacific. The figures are adorable and their accessories are perfectly themed to each character. And because they're so mini, you can display a lot of them in a small space.

I recently discovered that Series 8 of these cuties had arrived in stores. The set includes ten new figures. I got a little carried away and bought seven of them. The only ones I haven't found are Rafiki in his tree from the Lion King, and Disgust and Fear with their memory balls from Inside Out.

My favorite from this set is Gaston in his antler topped chair. That chair is my favorite place to take pictures at the Magic Kingdom, so I had to have the mini version.

Kermit is sitting on his log, probably getting ready to sing "It's Not Easy Being Green". Moana is steering her boat across the waves and Maui sits in the curve of his fishhook.

Jack Skellington is all decked out for his Christmas ride in his Santa sleigh. Heimlich has nibbled his way through a candy corn, much like in A Bugs Life. And the Maleficent dragon is surrounded by her wall of thorns, and just a whisp of green flames. Which Series 8 Tsum Tsum is your favorite?
