Tea Cozy Fun

Here's some more tea cozy fun. I'm really enjoying making lots of different tea cozies. Each one presents a unique challenge as it needs to fit a specific tea pot, but still look right. Fortunately, they're fairly quick to knit. This latest cozy is a very cheerful pineapple.

Chocolate Peppermint Shake Recipe From Twinings

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays
Disney

Twinings always has the most delightful tea-based beverages at the various EPCOT festivals. They're always a hit with my family. This year, they have a Chocolate Peppermint Shake at the Holiday Sweets and Treats Holiday Kitchen in the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. It sounds delicious. If you can't make it to this year's festival, here is a recipe from Disney and Twinings to make it at home.

Chocolate Peppermint Shake featuring Twinings Peppermint Cheer Tea

3 oz boiled water
2 Twinings Peppermint Cheer Tea bags
16 oz chocolate ice cream
1 tbsp candy cane bits

Pour freshly boiled water into a heat proof container.Open tea envelopes and remove tea bags from packets. Steep the two tea bags for three minutes or until desired strength; remove tea bags and discard. Chill tea.

In a blender, add ice cream and chilled tea and blend until smooth and creamy. For an adult twist: Add three ounces of whipped cream vodka into the blended mixture.

Pour into glasses and top with candy cane bits.

It's National Mad Hatter Day!

Tea Party in Wonderland
Sir John Tenniel
Today is National Mad Hatter Day! October 6th was chosen due to the "10/6" tag seen on the Mad Hatter's top hat in the original illustrations. The tag referred to the price of a hat in the 1860s: 10 shilling and 6 pence. National Mad Hatter Day is the perfect day to celebrate all things Wonderland by wearing outrageous hats and holding tea parties filled with curiouser and curiouser sweets. If you need a few ideas for your own tea party, try a few of these delightful suggestions I found on Pinterest.

Pumpkin Chai Milkshake Recipe from the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival

Twinings has a fantastic Pumpkin Chai Tea & Caramel Milkshake at the Ireland booth at this year's EPCOT Food and Wine Festival. And they shared the recipe with guests to the booth. The tea is available from the Tea Caddy in EPCOT's UK Pavilion as well as other tea retailers.

Twinings Pumpkin Chai Tea and Caramel Milkshake
  • 16 oz vanilla ice cream
  • 3 oz boiled water
  • 2 Twinings Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Bags
  • 2 Tbsp caramel syrup
Yield: 2 servings

Pour freshly boiled water into a heatproof container. Steep 2 teabags for 3 minutes, or until desired strength. Remove teabag and discard. Chill tea.

In a blender, add ice cream, chilled tea, and caramel syrup. Blend until smooth and creamy. Serve in a glass with a straw.

For an adult twist: Add 2 oz of caramel vodka into the blended mixture or pour over the top as a floater.

At the Food and Wine Festival, they topped the milkshake with crushed 'Nilla Wafers. They add a fun crunch to the milkshake.

I love the Twinings Tea Garden at the Flower and Garden Festival. Various plants used in their teas are grown in teacups behind the Tea Caddy shop.
