Captain America Virtual Reality Viewer

Kelloggs Family Rewards has created two different Virtual Reality Viewers in celebration of the upcoming premiere of Captain America: Civil War. Choose your side with either a Captain America viewer

or an Iron Man viewer.

Both viewers work with your smartphone and a free app from Kelloggs. Simply purchase specially marked packages of Kelloggs products and upload your receipt to your KFR account. You need 3 codes (3 products) to order each viewer. There is a limit of two viewers per household, but that way you can get one of each. Once ordered, the viewers should arrive in 6-8 weeks. Purchases must be made between 3/8/16-9/30/16, and redeemed by 10/31/16 or while supplies last.

On a side note, there is actually a third viewer available if you purchase your Kelloggs products from Walmart.  When I added my Poptarts receipt from Walmart, I received an email saying my Black Panther viewer had been ordered and should arrive in 6-8 weeks. So now we'll have three different looks to play with.

31 Days to Be Wicked on Disney Channel

This year's Halloween lineup on the Disney Channel is called 31 Days to Be Wicked, a riff on the song from Descendants 2.

It's an entire month of Disney Halloween favorites, old and new. Several of the Disney Channel Original Halloween movies have already been added to On-Demand, such as Girl vs. Monsters and the Halloweentown series. Which movie is your can't miss?

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is one of the most incredible rides at any Disney park. It's an amazingly detailed journey where guests join the Rebellion, get captured by the First Order, and are swept up in a daring escape. I love the TRON movies, both the original and TRON: Legacy, so I was very excited when a TRON inspired roller coaster arrived in Shanghai Disney Resort. And now, TRON Lightcycle Power Run is coming to the Magic Kingdom at Disney World as well. I can't wait!

Take An Exhilarating Virtual Ride On The Incredicoaster

The Incredicoaster at Disney California Adventure is quite the ride. I've only ridden it once, back when it was called California Screamin', and it was truly exhilarating. This coaster has it all: high speed, fast drops, and a full loop that I found rather terrifying. And now, it's filled with scenes of the Parr family from The Incredibles. Disney has created a virtual ride video that is a blast to watch. And its filled with fun facts about the Incredicoaster, as well. (This video has since been removed.).

The Countdown Is On For TRON Lightcycle / Run

The Upload Conduit is powered on and the Lightcycles are ready. Are you prepared to enter The Grid? In just under two months, Disney World's latest roller coaster, TRON Lightcycle / Run, will open for guests. It is expected to be the fastest coaster at any Disney Park.

There are a few things you should know before you board your Lightcycle as a member of Team Blue.

• This ride can only be accessed via a virtual queue. There is no standby queue. Guests with a ticket and park reservation can request to join the virtual queue via the My Disney Experience app.
• Guests can purchase an individual Lightning Lane entry via the My Disney Experience app. Pricing and availability will vary.
• Bags and loose items, including user headwear, must be stored in the lockers in the queue. The lockers are complimentary and can be locked and unlocked with a MagicBand or ticket card. Guests who don't have a MagicBand or ticket card will be assigned a card for the lockers. Small items, such as glasses, cellphones, and wallets can be stored in a small compartment on the ride vehicle.

• Disney PhotoPass photos and video will be captured on the ride. To collect a preview of the photo and video, either wear a MagicBand or bring your cellphone with the My Disney Experience app enabled onto the Lightcycle and stow it in the onboard compartment.

It's Time For A Virtual Ride Through Grizzly Gulch

Now you can take a virtual ride on Grizzly Gulch in Hong Kong Disneyland, and learn a few fun facts along the way.  The ride landscape looks like Big Thunder Mountain, but the track seems like a combination of Big Thunder and Expedition Everest. It looks like a lot of fun!

The Lion King Is Coming To Digital And Blu-ray

Disney's live-action The Lion King met with mixed reviews when it debuted in theaters. Viewers either seem to love it or hate it. Gideon's Bakehouse in Disney Springs Is Amazing!

I've been looking forward to trying the enormous cookies at Gideon's Bakehouse for ages. Each cookie is loaded with yummy ingredients and weighs nearly half a pound! When I arrived, I got in the Virtual Queue by talking to one of the employees beneath the gargoyle. 

I'd been waiting about an hour when I received a text message telling me it was time to enter. I checked in and was given a menu card listing the various cookie and cake flavors and a qr code with a link to a list of merchandise that was available that day.

Then, it was time to head inside. Gideon's Bakehouse is filled with wonderfully bizarre artwork and is rather dark and Gothic. I loved it! 

I chose three cookies: Peanut Butter Crunch, Pistachio Toffee, and Cookies & Cream. 

After they were boxed up, I couldn't resist buying a few stickers: the holographic gargoyle, a white vinyl Gideon's Bakehouse logo, and the adorably odd Signore Pipistrello, their latest character artwork. 

The cookies are huge and cost $6 each. The stickers were $2 for the logo sticker and $4 each for the other stickers. It was definitely worth it. 

The cookies are delicious! Not too sweet and loaded with oreos or peanut butter chips or candied pistachios. Yum!

Gideon's Bakehouse is located across from Jock Lindsey’s Hanger Bar in Disney Springs. I highly recommend taking the time to visit.

It's Time For A Virtual Ride On Slinky Dog Dash!

Right this way, "honorary toys", to the fastest ride in Toy Story Land! Hop aboard Slinky Dog as he navigates his way through the Dash & Dodge Mega Coaster Andy built in his backyard. Along the way, keep an eye out for hidden Pixar references throughout the ride.

Take A Virtual Trip On The Wildest Ride In The Wilderness!

One of my favorite rides at Disney World is Big Thunder Mountain. It's a fast, fun, mine train roller coaster that's an absolute blast, day or night. Disney has created a fact-filled ride through video that is as close to being in the park as you can get from home. So "Hang onto your hats and glasses, folks, 'cause this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!"

I find it absolutely hilarious that Disney took one little, somewhat painful, scene from Hawkeye and turned it into a 30 minute musical. "Rogers: The Musical" looks ridiculously funny! Here's a quick look behind-the-scenes at the making of this new show.

As part of the Disney100 celebration at Disneyland Resort, the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure Park presents “Rogers: The Musical” – an all-new, one-act live theater production performing for a limited time, June 30-Aug. 31, 2023. Inspired by the fictional musical number from the first episode of the Disney+ series “Hawkeye,” the real-life “Rogers: The Musical” tells the story of Steve Rogers – Captain America, including his relationship with Peggy Carter. The 30-minute show was brought to life through the creativity of Disney Live Entertainment, in partnership with book writer Hunter Bell and featuring music by Grammy-winning composer Christopher Lennertz.

And there are quite a few special sweets and treats to be found throughout the park to celebrate this new musical.

"Rogers: The Musical” is scheduled to perform four times a day, Tuesday through Saturday most weeks from June 30-August 31, 2023. There will be a free virtual queue that will open at 10:30 AM for the first two shows and 2 PM for the final two shows each performance day. The queue can be accessed through the Disneyland  app.

A "Rogers: The Musical" Premium Viewing Experience Package will be available for purchase at the Studio Catering Co. Truck. The Package, which costs $29, includes:

• A souvenir lanyard
• Reserved seating in an exclusive lounge before the show
• A "Rogers: The Musical" souvenir popcorn bucket filled with red, white, and blue kettle corn
• Your choice of Coca-Cola bottled beverage
• First access to the theater to select seats
• Priority access to a special Disney PhotoPass photo opportunity 

The Package will be available until either it sells out each day or 90 minutes before the last show.

Avatar: Fire and Ash on Digital and Blu-ray

Avatar: Fire and Ash is headed to Digital next week. The third movie in the epic story of Pandora finds the Sully family fighting to defend their way of life once again.

As Jake and Neytiri guide their family through grief, they journey with the nomadic Wind Traders across Pandora’s skies. Scurry Through Ratatouille: The Adventure At Disneyland Paris

Ratatouille: The Adventure is such a fun ride. You shrink down to the size of Remy, load into a ratmobile, and scurry through Chef Gusteau's kitchen. This "Ride & Learn" video from Disneyland Paris offers a virtual glimpse into this adorable ride, which will hopefully be opening at EPCOT later this year.

All Aboard For A Virtual Ride Through Expedition Everest

Expedition Everest: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain is one of the best rollercoasters in Disney World. After traveling through the village of Serka Zong, board the Anandapur Railway for your journey through the Forbidden Mountains on the way to Everest. But beware the Yeti!

I love these "Ride & Learn" videos from Disney. They're a great way to learn a few fun facts about a favorite ride while reliving some of the excitement of being in the parks. I wonder which ride they'll take on next?

Disney Channel Monstober

The Disney Channel is celebrating Monstober once again. This year there will be special episodes of your favorite shows, a new movie called The Swap, and several short videos, premiering nightly as part of "Monstober Theater," including monstrous transformations, makeup tutorials, and "Zombodies" animated shorts.

Disney has rolled out a new experience for fans of Walt Disney World. It's called the Let the Memories Begin Tour. This is a chance for everyone to experience the magic of Disney World without going to Florida.

By visiting one of the tour locations, guests can take virtual in-park photos that they can share. Photos are provided by Snapfish. Cast members will spread a little pixie dust at each stop, making this tour a magical experience. The tour kicks off in Chicago this weekend and travels around the country, ending in Puerto Rico in September. Here's a list of tour dates and cities.

A recent nationwide survey of U.S. and Canadian families found that vacation memories hold a special place in family history. Nine out of 10 parents said they planned vacations with the hope that they would result in a lasting family memory. In 2011, Disney Parks launched “Let the Memories Begin,” a year-long celebration of the family vacation memories created in Disney theme parks every day. Take a Virtual Ride on Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril is a high-speed, outdoor roller coaster in Disneyland Paris. It is a thrilling, if a little bumpy, journey around a temple covered in sculptures of snakes.

"Snakes...why did it have to be SNAKES?!"

I loved the theming, which is perfect for an Indiana Jones archaeological dig. The ride is a blast, with the first fully circular inversion on a Disney roller coaster, although it is a very small loop. 

I thoroughly enjoyed this ride, although you really have to keep your head back to prevent getting banged up. If you like roller coasters and Indiana Jones, be sure to give it a try.
