This Mulan Trailer and Poster Look Fantastic

Disney
The first full length trailer for Mulan has arrived and it looks fantastic! There's a gorgeous new poster, too.

Here's the official synopsis from Disney:

When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father. Masquerading as a man, Hua Jun, she is tested every step of the way and must harness her inner-strength and embrace her true potential. It is an epic journey that will transform her into an honored warrior and earn her the respect of a grateful nation…and a proud father.

Disney
“Mulan” features a celebrated international cast that includes: Yifei Liu as Mulan; Donnie Yen as Commander Tung; Jason Scott Lee as Böri Khan; Yoson An as Cheng Honghui; with Gong Li as Xianniang and Jet Li as the Emperor. The film is directed by Niki Caro from a screenplay by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver and Elizabeth Martin & Lauren Hynek based on the narrative poem “The Ballad of Mulan.”

Mulan arrives in theaters on March 27, 2020.

Six New Mulan Posters and A New Trailer Are Here!

Disney released a fantastic new set of character posters for Mulan over the weekend. Each poster features one of the main characters holding a reflective surface bearing the face of Mulan. Its a  rather cool nod to the song "Reflection" from the animated film. Above is Yifei Liu as Hua Mulan.

Mulan Is Coming to DisneyPlus

Disney
After months of delays, Disney's live-action Mulan is finally being released. On September 4, Mulan will arrive on DisneyPlus, but there's a catch. To watch Mulan, you'll need to purchase Premiere Access for an additional $29.99 on top of a regular DisneyPlus subscription. This will allow you to watch Mulan as many times as you like, but only for as long as you maintain your DisneyPlus subscription.

Honestly, as much as I'd like to see it, or any new movie, I think I'll wait until it's available on Blu-ray.

The New Mulan Song By Christina Aguilera Is Wonderful

Disney
The first song from the upcoming live-action Mulan has finally arrived. "Loyal Brave True", performed by Christina Aguilera, is truly wonderful.

The title for the song comes from Mulan's father describing his daughter and her actions to the ancestors.

Mulan arrives in theaters on March 27.

These Mulan POPVinyl are Adorable

All images: Funko
Funko has created five new POPVinyl figures featuring characters from Disney's animated Mulan. The first is Mulan, dressed as she is toward the end of the movie, riding her horse, Khan.

Three 6-inch figures include Mulan dressed as a soldier, Mushu with his gong, and Shang.

And finally, Mushu appears as a ten-inch super sized POP holding Crikee. These adorable figures should arrive in stores in a few weeks.

These Mulan Legos Are Too Awesome

Disney/Lego
Lego recently released several new Disney Princess Lego sets, but my favorite is Mulan. I love the way they captured both sides of her personality in such a small set.

Disney/Lego

Mulan's Training Day includes: a Mulan minifigure, her horse Khan, a temple to honor the ancestors, a blossom-filled cherry tree, a turning training dummy, and a tea set and fan.

There's even a Lego minisode version of the movie. Who knew you could tell the entire story in under ninety seconds?

Christina Aguilera Revisits "Reflection"

Disney
In 1998, Christina Aguilera released her first single, "Reflection", as part of the original Mulan soundtrack. Just in time for the DisneyPlus release of the new live-action Mulan, she has revisited the song with a new music video.

Disney's Mulan arrives on DisneyPlus this Friday, though with a $29.99 price tag. If you'd prefer to wait for the movie to become part of the regular DisneyPlus lineup, it's scheduled for release on December 4.

In Disney's live-action Mulan, they've taken a character who was already known for her strength and skill in battle and turned her into something of a superhero. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Autographs - An Adventure in Collecting, Part 3 Hollywood Studios

There are many opportunities to collect autographs at Disney's Hollywood Studios. For some characters, this is the only park where you can meet them for photos and autographs. The lines in this park are generally shorter than at the Magic Kingdom. At Hollywood Studios, I would recommend seeing Prince Caspian, the Incredibles, Playhouse Disney characters if you have little kids who enjoy the shows, Lightning McQueen & Mater, Mike & Sully, and the characters from UP. I haven't been to the Star Wars weekends yet, but I've heard that there are a lot of great characters to meet at these special events, as well as some of the actors who performed the roles in the movies. Most of the characters at Hollywood Studios are in special, themed areas specific to the character and are available throughout the day. Then there are rotating characters at the Magic of Animation building. These characters vary and may change multiple times throughout the day. As a result, you never know who you're going to get, but that can be fun if you have the time.

Characters that can be seen on normal days:
Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Sorceror Mickey, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto
Chip & Dale
Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Green Army Man*
Prince Caspian*
Power Rangers Green*, Yellow*, Pink*, and more*
Elastigirl*, Mr. Incredible*, Frozone*
Genie
Playhouse Disney: Handy Manny*, Jojo & Goliath*, Annie*, Quincy*, Leo* & June*
Indiana Jones* & Marion* (after the stunt show)
Lightning McQueen* & Mater* (they can't sign autographs because they don't have hands!)
Mike Wazowski* & Sully* (they can't sign autographs because Roz won't allow extra paperwork!)
Russell*, Mr. Fredrickson (Carl)*, and Dug* from UP

Characters that are sometimes available:
Belle
Mulan
Mary Poppins & Bert, Penguin
Villains: Captain Hook & Mr. Smee, Cruella DeVille, Frollo, Governor Radcliffe, Jafar, Prince John, the Sheriff of Nottingham, Queen of Hearts, the Snow Queen, Evil Queen
Tweedle Dum & Tweedle Dee, the White Rabbit
Rafiki
Snow White & Dopey
Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore
Pinocchio, Gepetto
Lilo & Stitch
Max
Pocahontas & Meeko
Suzy & Perla (the Mice from Cinderella)
Marie

Characters that are only found during Star Wars Weekends:
Chewbacca*, Ewoks*, R2-D2*, Jawas*
Darth Vader*, Boba Fett*, Stormtroopers*, Darth Maul*, Clone Troopers*
Jedi Mickey*, Stormtrooper Donald*, Vader Goofy*, Leia Minnie*

* = only available at this park
Tomorrow, on to Animal Kingdom.

EPCOT's Harmonious Looks Quite Beautiful

EPCOT Harmonious
Disney

The next nighttime show to arrive at EPCOT will be "Harmonious." The show blends projections, music, and fireworks into a world celebration spectacular. The description from Disney sounds amazing:

The show moves through three distinct chapters, inviting us to gather on the shores of World Showcase Lagoon, celebrate the countries and cultures of the world, and ultimately unite to create a bright tomorrow. “Harmonious” begins with a sunrise, and as the world awakens around us, we set out on a journey that takes us across the globe. It’s a dazzling and diverse feast for the eyes and ears, from the South Pacific home of “Moana” and a Middle-Eastern interpretation of “Aladdin” to “The Jungle Book” in India, China’s legend of “Mulan,” the European nations that inspired “Brave” and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” and so much more.

Here's a behind-the-scenes look at this beautiful new show.

"Harmonious" makes its debut on October 1, 2021, just in time for Disney World's 50th Anniversary Celebration

These Disney Princess Mini Trees are Too Adorable

Disney
If you've been looking to add a bit of Disney Princess to your Christmas decor, consider making one, or several, of these adorable trees. Each one was inspired by the outfit of a Disney Princess: Ariel, Rapunzel, Mulan, Tiana, and Jasmine.

These trees look fairly easy to decorate and would be a fun family project.

Disney
If you'd prefer a Belle or Cinderella tree, instructions can be found here on the Disney Family website. Which tree will you make?

Autographs - An Adventure in Collecting, Part 5 EPCOT

EPCOT is a great place to collect autographs. The lines are generally short and there are many opportunities to meet characters at this park. There are a few character Meet'n'Greets in Future World and several in the World Showcase. And if you're a Disney Visa cardholder, don't forget to take advantage of the special Meet'n'Greet in Innoventions. Not only will your family get a private session with some of the characters, but you'll also receive a free 5x7 photo from the session.

Characters that can be seen on normal days:
Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto
Chip & Dale
Aladdin, Jasmine, Genie*
Alice
Mary Poppins
Mulan*, Mushu*
Belle, Beast*
Snow White, Dopey
Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Piglet

Characters that are sometimes available:
Governor Radcliffe
Marie
Baloo
Donald Duck in 3 Caballero's clothes*, Jose Carioca*

* = only at this park

There are also some special event characters that you can meet at Christmas, only at EPCOT, and sometimes they do sign autographs. They also tell stories about the winter customs of their countries. The stories are very interesting and help children learn about other culture's customs without realizing they are learning. I would recommend getting to each storytelling early and standing as near the front as possible. Depending on when you go, you may be the only family waiting for a storyteller, and you may be chosen to help with the story. (Bean was chosen to help La Befana by holding her broom!)

The special Christmas storytellers are:
Nowell the Lumberjack (Canada)
Father Christmas (United Kingdom)
Pere Noel (France)
Taarji (Morocco)
Daruma Doll Seller (Japan)
Santa & Mrs. Claus (American Adventure)
Hanukkah (American Adventure)
Imani (American Adventure - Kwanzaa)
La Befana (Italy)
Helga & the Nutcracker (Germany)
Monkey King (China)
Sigrid & Julenissen (Norway)
Los Tres Reyes Magos (Mexico)
