Sunrise On The Reaping Character Posters

All images: Lionsgate

Lionsgate has released a set of fourteen character posters for the latest film in the Hunger Games franchise: Sunrise On The Reaping. It's the story of Haymitch Abernathy's journey through the Hunger Games, which, to me, is the saddest tale in the series. First up, the characters associated with District 12. Joseph Zada stars as young Haymitch Abernathy, a tribute from District 12.

Whitney Peak as Lenore Dove, a Covey girl from District 12.

McKenna Grace as Maysilee Donner, a tribute from District 12.

Ben Wang as Wyatt Callow, a tribute from District 12.

Glenn Close as Drusilla Sickle, the tribute escort for District 12.

Billy Porter as Magno Stift, the uncaring stylist for District 12.

Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket, who hopes to become the escort for District 12.

Next up, the characters from the Capitol. First is Ralph Fiennes as President Coriolanus Snow.

Kieran Culkin as Caesar Flickerman, the over-the-top television host of the Hunger Games.

Jesse Plemmons as Plutarch Heavensbee, the man who will eventually become pivotal in the downfall of the Capitol.

And finally, the Victors and an unexpected tribute. Lili Taylor as Mags Flanagan, a former Victor from District 4 who has become a mentor for District 12.

Maya Hawke as Wiress, a former Victor from District 3 who has become a mentor for District 12.

Kelvin Harrison Jr as Beetee Latier, a former Victor from District 3 who is desperate to save his son.

Percy Daggs IV as Ampert Latier, Beetee's son and a tribute from District 3.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping arrives in theaters on November 20th.

"The Headless Horseman" - Bing Crosby

Disney

Disney's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a Halloween favorite in my house. It's such a fun version of the story that's narrated by Bing Crosby. In October 1949, to celebrate the release of the film, Bing sang this version of "The Headless Horseman" on the Chesterfield Radio Program.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is available on DisneyPlus as part of The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad.

In what appears to be the final story in the WandaVision saga, Vision is confronted by Tommy, one of the twins that Wanda magicked into being. His brother, Billy, reappeared in Agatha All Along. Will the family finally be reunited in VisionQuest?

Here's the official synopsis from Marvel:

When "VisionQuest" begins, Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponize him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron. His discreet existence ends when a bounty placed on his head thrusts him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a mysterious boy who may be Vision’s son, reincarnate. As Vision evades capture, he must confront his nature, resist Ultron's influence, and unravel the enigma that is his young companion if he’s to survive.

Hexed

All images: Disney

The first full trailer for Disney's Hexed has arrived and it looks so fun. Billie Doe has no idea that she's a witch, but she's about to find out in the most spectacular fashion.

Here's the official synopsis from Disney:

In “Disney’s Hexed,” an impulsive and unconventional teenage girl named Billie Doe (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld) discovers secret magical abilities which, once unleashed, hurtle her out of suburbia and into a spectacle-filled journey through a vast witch realm called Hexe. Forced to team up with her cautious mother, Alice (voiced by Rashida Jones), they uncover family mysteries that could change the world of witches forever.

Walton Goggins voices Beef Roger Crummchuk, a reclusive, magical three-eyed cat who forges an uneasy alliance with Billie and Alice. Jodie Foster voices Queen Celeste, a sinister figure who will stop at nothing to maintain her power in perpetuity over Hexe.

Hexed arrives in theaters on November 25th.

Ichabod Pumpkin

I love the various pumpkins and jack o'lanterns that appear throughout the Magic Kingdom every Halloween. This Ichabod pumpkin, which I discovered in Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in 2013, is one of my favorites.

One Iconic Line From Every MCU Movie

Marvel

There are lines from movies that just stick with you. They can be a sentence that defines a movie, or one that is simply endlessly quotable. They can make you laugh, or cheer, or even cry, but they're always memorable. Here are the quotes Marvel thinks are the most iconic from each film in the MCU. Do you agree?

All of the films in this compilation are available to watch on DisneyPlus.

Bah, Humbug!

All images: Paramount

A new trailer has arrived for Ebenezer and it looks hilarious. The story is so well-loved that we seem to see a new version of Dickens' A Christmas Carol every few years. The latest stars Johhny Depp as the curmudgeon who reluctantly finds redemption.

Here's the official synopsis from Paramount:

Think you know his story? Think again.

This November, Johnny Depp is Ebenezer Scrooge. The name you know, the story you don’t. From Ti West, "Ebenezer" also stars Rupert Grint, Andrea Riseborough, Sam Claflin, Daisy Ridley, Arthur Conti, Ellie Bamber, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Charlie Murphy, with Tramell Tillman and Ian McKellen.

Ebenezer arrives in theaters on November 13th.

All images: Marvel

When "VisionQuest" begins, Vision, rebooted and having escaped from those who sought to weaponize him, has been in hiding. Searching for new meaning, he consults the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S., and the infamous Ultron. Dolly Parton Day

September 25th is the perfect day to celebrate the life and legacy of Dolly Parton. She was a singer, songwriter, actress, businesswoman, and philanthropist. She was known as much for her over-the-top personality and look as for her kind and caring heart.

The Dollywood Foundation also named today "Give Like Dolly Day" to "encourage the world to make a difference in a child's life." Dolly founded the Imagination Library in 1995 in honor of her father, who could neither read nor write. She began giving books to children near her hometown in Tennessee, but eventually spread the program across the US as well as to Canada, the UK, Australia, and Ireland. If you'd like to know more about the program and how you can help, just visit this link to Dolly's official website.

Sunrise On The Reaping Final Trailer

All images: Lionsgate

The final trailer for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping has arrived and it is the most intense one yet. Haymitch's story is honestly the saddest one of the series, but it is also the beginning of the revolution.

Here's the official synopsis from Lionsgate:

"The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping" follows sixteen-year-old Haymitch Abernathy (Joseph Zada) from District 12, beginning on the morning of the reaping for the 50th Annual Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell, the biggest Games yet with twice as many tributes.

Set in the world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, the story follows Haymitch into the arena, where he forms an unlikely alliance with fellow tribute Maysilee Donner (Mckenna Grace) and joins a coalition determined to challenge the Capitol’s control under President Snow (Ralph Fiennes). As the competition unfolds, Haymitch risks everything to take down the Games from within the arena — setting in motion the rebellion that will change Panem forever.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping arrives in theaters on November 20th.
