Disney's Wish Looks Amazing

Disney's next animated film is an original story called Wish. It's the tale of 17 year old Asha who lives in the kingdom of Rosas, and the unexpected magic found within her wish.

Here's the official synopsis from Disney:

In “Wish,” Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star confront a most formidable foe—the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico—to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen. The film features the voices of Ariana DeBose as Asha, Chris Pine as Magnifico, and Alan Tudyk as Asha’s favorite goat, Valentino.

Wish arrives in theaters on November 22, 2023.

The Guardians Are Heading On One Last Adventure

Disney's Peter Pan and Wendy is just three days away. I'm looking forward to seeing how much of the original JM Barrie story they kept, and how much has been changed.

The film introduces Wendy Darling, a young girl afraid to leave her childhood home behind who meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Alongside her brothers and a tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, she travels with Peter to the magical world of Neverland. There, she encounters an evil pirate captain, Captain Hook, and embarks on a thrilling and dangerous adventure that will change her life forever. The film stars Jude Law, Alexander Molony, Ever Anderson, Yara Shahidi, Alyssa Wapanatâhk, Joshua Pickering, Jacobi Jupe, Molly Parker, Alan Tudyk, and Jim Gaffigan. “Peter Pan and Wendy” is directed by David Lowery from a screenplay by David Lowery & Toby Halbrooks based on the novel by J. American Born Chinese

There's a new movie coming to DisneyPlus this May that blends the modern world and Chinese mythology into one epic adventure. All Jin Wang wants is to fit in, but thanks to the new kid at school he's assigned to mentor, things are about to get very interesting. 

Here's the official synopsis from Disney: 

Based on the genre-hopping graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang, “American Born Chinese” tells the story of Jin Wang, an average teenager juggling his high school social life with his home life. When he meets a new student on the first day of the school year, even more worlds collide as Jin is unwittingly entangled in a battle of Chinese mythological gods.

American Born Chinese arrives on DisneyPlus on May 24.

Disney's latest live-action movie is called Crater. It's a futuristic coming-of-age adventure of five friends who just happen to live on the moon. It looks really good.

Here's the official synopsis from Disney: 

"Crater" is the coming-of-age adventure story of Caleb Channing, who was raised on a lunar mining colony and is about to be relocated to an idyllic faraway planet following the death of his father. But before leaving, to fulfill his dad's last wish, he and his three best friends, Dylan, Borney, and Marcus, and a new arrival from Earth, Addison, hijack a rover for one final adventure on a journey to explore a mysterious crater.

Crater arrives on DisneyPlus on May 12.

Indiana Jones Funko POPVinyl Are Coming Soon

With the final installment of the Indiana Jones movies heading to theaters this summer, Funko has decided to revisit a few favorite scenes and characters from the first three movies. (Yes, I know there are four, but the Crystal Skull has been left out of this set.) These POPVinyl collectibles are currently available for pre-order from the usual suspects: Amazon, Entertainment Earth, GameStop, etc, and most will also be available at Funko at some point. They are expected to arrive sometime between May and August and prices do vary somewhat by retailer. 

First up, is Indy escaping the boulder. This large scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark will be available from multiple retailers at a price of $34.99.

The second scene is of Indy with the Sankara Stones. This figure, from Temple of Doom, is a Funko exclusive that lights up and will cost $40.

The third scene is my favorite: Indy and his dad in the motorcycle with sidecar. This scene, from The Last Crusade, is an Amazon exclusive and will cost $24.99.

Indy Is Back For One Final Adventure

Forty two years after Indiana Jones first appeared in Raiders of the Lost Ark, he's returning, along with a familiar face or two, for one final adventure. And like all the best Indy stories, he's once again going up against the Nazis.

A new Muppet series is coming to DisneyPlus. The Muppets Mayhem follows The Electric Mayhem Band as they work to record their first-ever album. Can you believe it has taken them 45 years to record an album? 

Then again, with as wild as Dr. Teeth, Janice, Floyd Pepper, Animal, Zoot, and Lips can get, maybe it makes sense. Joining this crazy band will be Nora (Lilly Sing), a junior music executive, her social media influencer sister Hannah (Saara Chaudry), and super-fan Gary "Moog" Moogland (Tahj Mowry). It should be a blast!

A new trailer for Marvel's Secret Invasion has arrived and it looks intense! Fury is back for one last fight, and he's brought a few familiar faces along to help. But with Skrulls who can assume any appearance hiding among us, who should you trust?
