The Music of Unfairly Ever After

A new Villain show is coming to Hollywood Studios this summer. Featuring three of Disney most popular Villains, Maleficent, Captain Hook, and Cruella de Vil, "Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After" will be a musical stage show where the Villains try to convince us that they're simply misunderstood. Let's take a behind-the-scenes look at the music of this new show.

It sounds fun, right? Here's the official description from Disney:

Behold a fiendishly funny and fantastical stage show starring iconic Disney villains… who are feeling unfairly treated.

Enter the realm of the Magic Mirror—where dozens of villains are trapped! They want the Mirror to reveal the truth: which villain has been treated the most unfairly of them all?

Watch as Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook and Maleficent present their cases on stage, persuading with wicked wisdom and wisecracks. Will you be swayed by their hijinks and humor?

It’s a spellbinding show with moving music and a most memorable finale—where you help decide who has been treated most unfairly.

"Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” will cast a spell over guests beginning May 27, 2025.

LEGO Disney Princess: Villains Unite

The LEGO Princesses are back to fight Gaston once again. In this sequel to LEGO Disney Princess: The Castle Quest, Gaston has gathered more Villains to help with his evil plot, so the Princesses call in some extra help too.

Here's the official synopsis from LEGO: 

After Ariel, Moana, Tiana, Rapunzel, and Snow White thwarted Gaston’s plan to take over all of their kingdoms, he calls upon Ursula, Jafar, and the Evil Queen to help take the Princesses down once and for all. The Princesses learn about Gaston’s scheme and recruit a few friends of their own with the help of Magic Mirror: Aurora, Belle, and Cinderella! Together, the Princesses team up for an ultimate showdown of good versus evil.

The Halloween Character Cavalcades In The Magic Kingdom Are Fantastic

I love the parade at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, so I was sorry that I'd have to miss it this year. Luckily, Disney turned a few of the character cavalcades into a mini Boo To You Halloween Parade. You can always tell one of these fun little parades is headed your way when you hear the Halloween music.

The first parade I saw was a Nightmare Before Christmas float with Jack Skellington, Sally, and Oogie Boogie.

The next had dancers from the Boo To You Halloween Parade:

Sugar Rush Racers, Haunted Mansion Gravediggers, Pirates, and Steampunk characters.

There was a float with Mickey and his pals Minnie, Pluto, Donald, and Daisy in their Halloween costumes.

The final Halloween parade was filled with villains. Gaston, the Queen of Hearts, Captain Hook, and Bowler Hat Guy marched along before a float with even more villains.

Jafar, Maleficent, and the Evil Queen rode along on the Chernabog float.

I adore these character cavalcades parades. They are frequent and fun and a perfect little piece of Halloween throughout the day.

Funko's Funkoween POPs Are Spooktacular

Funko has released a very large collection of new POPVinyl figures as part of their Funkoween: Halfway to Hallow's Eve celebration. These are a few of my favorites. Most are available for pre-order now. First up is a new Hocus Pocus scene. This time, my three favorite witches are performing "I put a spell on you." As with previous Hocus Pocus figures, this one is a Spirit Halloween Store exclusive. It should be available in early July.

Next up is a Hocus Pocus card game. I haven't played any of Funko's games yet, but they always look fun.

Mickey and his pals are dressed to Trick-Or-Treat in this adorable collection. Figures include:

• Mickey as a jack-o-lantern 
• Glow-in-the-dark Mickey is an Amazon exclusive
• Donald as a candy corn
• Minnie as a candy corn witch
• Goofy as a skeleton 
• Glow-in-the-dark Goofy is an Entertainment Earth exclusive

A new Disney Villains collection featuring six despicable villains will be a Hot Topic exclusive. The first known figure is Hades with Pain and Panic. All six will connect to form one giant scene.

And speaking of Villains, a new set of Villain Mystery Minis are being released as well. I love the Minis, both for their small size and hilarious expressions. This collection includes:

Villains Fabrics at Jo-Ann's

Have you seen the new line of Disney Villain fabrics at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores? It is totally wild and yet an absolute must have for the Villain lover. My sister and I each bought a yard of the two different fabrics that were available at our local store. Apparently, there are five different fabrics, but they are selling out quickly. The online store only has one left at the moment, but they may have more in stock before Halloween. I certainly hope so, because I really want them all!

I love this lavender and gray fabric with each villain separate and a quote from her story. It has images of the Evil Queen, Cruella DeVil, Ursula, and my favorite, Maleficent.

I bought a yard of this gray lace print fabric. Hidden in the lace are tiny Maleficent dragons, the Evil Queen's apples, and Cruella's scissors. I plan to make a trick or treat bag for next year's Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

 

This dark purple fabric features Maleficent, the Evil Queen, and Cruella and says "Love to be Bad." The color is gorgeous and I really like the stylized look of the Villains.

The hot pink fabric with purple smoke and lace accents says "Fashionably Bad." It again features Cruella, the Evil Queen, and Maleficent. It's a rather bold background with the Villains in simple, somewhat muted, colors.

The final fabric is my least favorite of the collection. It's rather creepy with each of the Villains faces wearing a bleeding red lipstick and smeary eyeliner. The background is a pale pink and gray damask with the faces of the Evil Queen, Cruella, Ursula, and Maleficent. It is also the only one that it still available on the website. If you think this fabric is a must have, be sure to order soon. It's currently on sale for $5.99 a yard.

Boo to You Parade at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

In my opinion, the Boo to You Parade at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is the best parade at Disney World. It's a great opportunity to see many rare Disney characters as well as several classic characters in Halloween costumes. Bean's favorite part of the parade is the Headless Horseman who rides through before the parade starts. We've enjoyed watching the old Disney Legend of Sleepy Hollow, as narrated by Bing Crosby, for years. As a result, we always look forward to seeing the Headless Horseman, although Bean was terribly disappointed to discover that he doesn't give autographs!

After the Horseman, the music begins and the floats make their way through Frontierland toward Main Street. The music is ridiculously catchy! You'll find yourself humming it for days after watching the parade. The parade begins with many walking characters who carry fancy Halloween masks. The characters dance to the music, but also wave to the children in the audience and high-five them as well.

The first float has Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy in their Halloween finery, riding in a decorated gazebo.

Next is a large tree from the Hundred Acre Woods with Winnie the Pooh and friends in their Halloween costumes. Peter Pan and the Lost Boys dance and play their way through the parade with Wendy. They are followed by Captain Hook and Mr Smee on the Jolly Roger and an enormous Tick-Tock Croc.

The next group is pirates, including Captain Barbossa and Captain Jack Sparrow high up on a treasure covered cliff.

Now we've come to my favorite part of the parade: the Haunted Mansion characters. Fog covers the ground as the Caretaker, Dick O'Dell, leads his frightened dog through the mist. Ghostly ballroom dancers glide down the parade route followed by the Hitchhiking Ghosts standing on the steps of the Haunted Mansion. The dancers are not to be missed. They are eerie and beautiful at the same time.

The gravediggers are also spectacular and do an amazing dance with shovels, including a move where they run the shovels along the ground and send up sparks. The next group includes characters from the early days of Disney and includes Horace Horsecollar, a group of cowboy dancer, and the Country Bears singing and playing on a float.

Brer Bear and Brer Fox join Chip and Dale in Western wear to escort several country girls down the parade, dancing as they go. Clara Cluck follows them in a giant barn.

Next up is a pumpkin-headed character on a large mirrored ball that spins and weaves through the parade.

The villains follow, complete with their own skeleton band, and include the Queen of Heart, Cruella DeVil, the Evil Queen, the Sheriff of Nottingham, the Big Bad Wolf, Dr. Facilier,  and Jafar and Maleficent on a castle wall with a full size Chernabog peering over the top and often Ursula on the back. Shenzi, Bonzai, and Ed round out the villains and are followed by a candy corn waving flag line. Pluto and Goofy, riding in candy filled trucks, are the last to pass, with helpers who hand out candy to the children, ending the parade.

You'll have two chances to watch the parade during the party. If you have young children who may not be able to stay until the end of the party, I would recommend watching the earlier parade. The first parade is at 8:15 pm and the second parade is at 10:30 pm. I have watched the parade from several different locations, but would recommend finding a spot in Frontierland. The area between the Country Bear Jamboree and the Frontierland turkey leg cart, facing the Rivers of America is my favorite spot. It's usually not as crowded as Main Street and the lighting is fantastic for taking photos.

The Boo to You Parade may change slightly from year to year and may include different characters, but it's always worth taking the time to watch. Be sure to pick a spot about 20-30 minutes before the start of the parade to get the best seats and remember to bring glow sticks from home. They sell them at Disney and kids always want them, but they are far too expensive. The parade lasts about 15 minutes and may have a few moments that are too scary for young children, such as the Haunted Mansion characters and villains. However, this parade is definitely one to watch.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

It's nearly that time of year again, time for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney World. Halloween is one of my favorite times of year to go to the Magic Kingdom. The decorations are everywhere, from scarecrows on Main Street to pumpkins in nearly every window. And the party is extra fun, with the Boo to You Parade, special Halloween treats, a Villains Show, Happy Hallowishes Fireworks, and of course Trick or Treating throughout the park. This year, the new Hocus Pocus Villains Spelltacular will be hosted by the Sanderson Sisters from the movie Hocus Pocus. It will be shown four times each party; 8:00pm, 9:20pm, 10:40pm, and 12:00am. I've never stopped to watch the show before, but I can't wait to see the new show. The parade can be seen twice during each party, at 8:35pm and 11:15pm, and the fireworks start at 10pm.

This year, the Party begins on September 15 and continues, on select nights, until November 1. Each party is officially from 7pm until 12am, but you can generally arrive around 4pm. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is a separately ticked event. And just in case you'd like a sneak peek at the maps, here you go.

LEGO has an "Incredible" New Game On the Way

I love the Lego videogames. They are a ton of fun to play and can be quite addicting. The latest LEGO game features that irrepressible family of supers, the Incredibles. Team up with the Parr family to take on villains and protect the citizens of Municiberg and New Urbem.
LEGO The Incredibles will be available on three systems: Playstation4, XBoxOne, and Nintendo Switch. It arrives in stores on June 15.

Have you seen the new computer wallpapers from Disney? They are currently doing a series of villains. So far, they're offering Ursula, Hook, and the Evil Queen from Snow White. They are perfectly creepy and great for Halloween. Check them out.

Tsum Tsum Villains

The next batch of Tsum Tsums won't arrive in stores until September 6, but I am very excited about this new set: Disney Villains! There are eight Tsums in the collection:

• Lady Tremaine from Cinderella
• Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians
• Ursula from the Little Mermaid
• Jafar the Genie from Aladdin 2
• The Evil Queen from Snow White
• Dr. Facilier

I especially like Maleficent and the Dragon. Maleficent is my favorite villain because she's just so deliciously evil. Which villain will you add to your collection?
