Mickey And Minnie’s Runaway Railway Toys At McDonald's

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Toys
All images: Disney

Disney toys have returned once again to McDonald’s Happy Meals. I must admit to an unfortunate weakness for collecting these adorable reminders of my childhood, especially the Disney themed toys. The new toys began arriving yesterday, just in time for Mickey and Minnie’s 92 birthday.

Mickey And Minnie’s Runaway Railway Toys

This latest collection features Mickey and pals enjoying rides from across Disney World. On each of the 10 toys, the character move as it rolls along. Connect all of the toys to create a train full of zany fun. Here are the toys:
The toys will be available in Happy Meals through December 14, while supplies last. For even more fun, each toy contains a code you can enter here for a chance to win one of 15 Disney World vacations. McDonald’s also has free printable Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway activities on their Happy Meal website. So, how many Happy Meals will be in your future? I'm hoping to collect all 10 toys!

Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway

Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway

Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway has a fantastic neon marquee. Mickey and Minnie wave as the flourishes at the top dance and change color. While I still miss the Great Movie Ride, this ride is actually pretty fun.

Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway Queue Walkthrough

Disneyland
Disney

I love how creative the Disney Imagineers are when it comes to designing ride queues. The queue for Disneyland's latest ride, Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway, is a real delight. As you enter the El Capitoon Theatre, you discover that it is filled with an amazing assortment of all things Mickey. There are scenes and costumes from so many of my favorite Mickey Mouse movies and shorts. My favorite prop may be the "Lonesome Ghosts" dresser. I love how the ghost appears in the mirror and blows the propeller on the plane above him with his fireplace bellows.

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway is now open in Disneyland.

All Aboard Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway

Are you ready for another "Ride & Learn" video from Disney? This time, Engineer Goofy takes us on a wild ride aboard the Runnamuck Railroad through the cartoon world of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. This is the first ride in Disney history to feature Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

I can't wait to experience this zany ride the next time I'm in Disney World!

Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway Poster

Disney
Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway opened yesterday at Hollywood Studios. To celebrate, the Disney Parks Blog released a downloadable poster similar to the one found in the lobby. The poster is for "The Perfect Picnic", an episode of the Mickey Mouse shorts that is part of the ride. Several other posters for previous Mickey Mouse shorts are also available on the blog, including one for my favorite episode "Croissant de Triomphe." They're hilarious!

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway Marquee

Disney
A new marquee for Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway has appeared on the Chinese Theater in Hollywood Studios. The sign is very neon and a bit over the top.

I can't wait to see what the ride is like when it opens on March 4!

All Aboard Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway!

All images: Disney

"Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway", the latest ride at Hollywood Studios and the first in any park to feature Mickey Mouse and Friends, opens today. To celebrate, Disney has created a dazzling array of clothing and collectibles.

First up, a pair of translucent Mickey ears. The headband features Mickey in one ear, Minnie in the other, and engineer Goofy in the train on a spring in the middle. On the side of the headband are lyrics from the ride's theme song: "Nothing Can Stop Us Now!"

Toys from the ride include a train whistle with a train on top driven by Mickey,

a pull back toy that looks like the locomotive and the ride vehicle,

and a set of five stuffed Wishables toys. The soft figures include Chuuby, the locomotive, Mickey & Minnie in a car, engineer Goofy (the one available outside of a blind bag), and Daisy Duck.

Additional items inspired by the locomotive include this hilarious mug featuring engineer Goofy
and this ear hat ornament with Mickey and Minnie.

Several tees, including an Annual Passholder exclusive, feature artwork inspired by the ride and its marquee.

Other Annual Passholder exclusives also feature artwork inspired by the marquee, including this pin and a black Magic Band.

A light blue Magic Band with Mickey, Minnie, & Goofy is also available.

Finally, if you want to commemorate the opening day of this wacky ride, there's a limited edition pin with Mickey & Minnie in the locomotive. All of these collectibles will be available throughout Hollywood Studios. Select items will also be available on shopDisney.com.

What to Expect When Disney World Reopens

When Disney World reopens the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on July 11 and EPCOT and Hollywood Studios on July 15, things will look a little different. From reservations to get into the parks on a specific day, to no Fast Passes, to guests and Cast Members wearing masks, it will definitely be a new experience.

Before you go, make sure to book a reservation through Disney's Park Pass System. Reservations can be made beginning June 22 for resort guests, June 26 for Annual Passholders, and June 28 for existing ticket holders. All guests must have a Park Pass and ticket to enter the Parks and can only select one park per day, no park hopping. All guests may be subject to a touchless temperature check and must wear a mask to enter the Parks.

Once you enter the Parks, most attractions will be available including:

There will be characters in the Parks, although Meet and Greets have been suspended for the time being. Some characters can be seen in surprise parades while others might pop up in unexpected locations. Here are a few ways the characters will appear:
  • Magic Kingdom - cavalcades down the parade route, perhaps a captive Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean queue (I've seen Cap'n Jack in the queue before and it's hilarious!)
  • Animal Kingdom - characters sailing the waterways
  • EPCOT - processions along the World Showcase promenade, Queen Anna and Elsa may cross your path in the World Showcase
  • Hollywood Studios - motorcades on Hollywood Boulevard, Resistance members may be hiding from the First Order in Black Spire Outpost
Several music groups will also be returning, such as Mariachi Cobre and JAMMitors at EPCOT and the Main Street Philharmonic at Magic Kingdom.

While it will be different, I can't wait to return to Walt Disney World this summer!

Raya and the Last Dragon Happy Meal Toys

Raya and the Last Dragon toys
McDonald’s

The latest Disney toys have arrived at McDonald’s. Eight new toys representing characters from Raya and the Last Dragon can now be found in Happy Meals across the US. Here's a list of the toys:
  • Raya
  • Sisu
  • Boun
  • Namaari
  • Tuk Tuk
  • Noi
  • Ongis
  • Tong
They look pretty adorable. If you'd like to see the toys in action or download a fun activity sheet, check out McDonald’s Happy Meal website. And hopefully, the whole set will be released this time (after the problems with the Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway toys.)

Walt Disney Presents at Hollywood Studios

Courtesy of Disney

With all of the changes happening at Hollywood Studios, it's still a surprise when yet another is announced. It seems that One Man's Dream is going to be reimagined as Walt Disney Presents. The attraction, which currently showcases historic items from Disney history, will add previews for new attractions coming to the park in the next two years.

Starting in September, guests can view concept art, ride vehicle macquettes, and models of Toy Story Land. Part of the model for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will also be on display, as well as concept art for Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. Character Meet and Greets, such as Star-Lord and Baby Groot, will continue, as will the sneak previews for upcoming Disney films.

All of these changes mean it's going to be a very different park once they are finished. I'm excited to see how it turns out.
