Sheriff Callie, voiced by Mandy Moore, is a calico cat who is the law in the town of Nice and Friendly Corners. She uses her magical noodle lasso to save the day or rescue a friend in need. Her horse, Sparky, is the fastest horse in the west. The hilarious Deputy Peck, voiced by Lucas Grabeel of High School Musical fame, is a woodpecker who likes everything to be orderly as well as nice and friendly. His mule, Clementine, takes him everywhere he needs to go, although not always as quickly as Peck would like. His best friend is Toby the cactus, a funny little saguaro who just loves to dance. There are several other towns people who share in Callie's adventures. Uncle Bun, the bunny who owns the general store, and Tio Tortuga, a wise old dessert tortoise and Uncle Bun's best friend. Ella Cowbelle, a milk cow, owns Ella's milkshake saloon. Dirty Dan and Dusty are javelinas and prospectors as well as brothers. Priscilla Skunk is quite prissy and loves flowers and other beautiful things, but her cousin Farmer Stinky is a grubby farmer. The town doctor is a cheerful duck named Doc Quackers. But my favorite characters are a sibling trio of prairie dogs that sing old country-style harmonies. Several other dessert creatures make occasional appearances, such as Governor Groundhog and Cody, a roadrunner who works for the Pony Express. There's also a Buffalo who owns a jackalope ranch and Mr. Dillo, the blacksmith, who is an armadillo that rolls up into a ball whenever he gets scared.
I love Sheriff Callie's Wild West. The characters are very sweet and the stories are gentle lessons that are great for any child. So if you are looking for a new show to watch as a family, be sure to check out Sheriff Callie's Wild West. You'll be happy you did!
