Disney's Wish Looks Amazing

Disney's next animated film is an original story called Wish. It's the tale of 17 year old Asha who lives in the kingdom of Rosas, and the unexpected magic found within her wish.

Here's the official synopsis from Disney:

In “Wish,” Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star confront a most formidable foe—the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico—to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen. The film features the voices of Ariana DeBose as Asha, Chris Pine as Magnifico, and Alan Tudyk as Asha’s favorite goat, Valentino.

Wish arrives in theaters on November 22, 2023.

The Guardians Are Heading On One Last Adventure

Disney's Peter Pan and Wendy is just three days away. I'm looking forward to seeing how much of the original JM Barrie story they kept, and how much has been changed.

The film introduces Wendy Darling, a young girl afraid to leave her childhood home behind who meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Alongside her brothers and a tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, she travels with Peter to the magical world of Neverland. There, she encounters an evil pirate captain, Captain Hook, and embarks on a thrilling and dangerous adventure that will change her life forever. The film stars Jude Law, Alexander Molony, Ever Anderson, Yara Shahidi, Alyssa Wapanatâhk, Joshua Pickering, Jacobi Jupe, Molly Parker, Alan Tudyk, and Jim Gaffigan. “Peter Pan and Wendy” is directed by David Lowery from a screenplay by David Lowery & Toby Halbrooks based on the novel by J. M. Barrie and the animated film “Peter Pan.”

American Born Chinese

There's a new movie coming to DisneyPlus this May that blends the modern world and Chinese mythology into one epic adventure. All Jin Wang wants is to fit in, but thanks to the new kid at school he's assigned to mentor, things are about to get very interesting. 

Here's the official synopsis from Disney: 

Based on the genre-hopping graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang, “American Born Chinese” tells the story of Jin Wang, an average teenager juggling his high school social life with his home life. When he meets a new student on the first day of the school year, even more worlds collide as Jin is unwittingly entangled in a battle of Chinese mythological gods.

American Born Chinese arrives on DisneyPlus on May 24.
