Even More Halloween Movies for Kids

I'm a bit of a Halloween fanatic. As a result, I love watching Halloween movies all October long. Every year, it seems like we find a few more great films. Here are this years favorites. Not all of them are available on DVD yet, but most are available as instant video on Amazon and should replay on TV this month.

The Boy Who Cried Werewolf - This is one of Bean's favorites. It's the story of a California family who suddenly inherits a Romanian castle from a distant relative. When they arrive at Castle Wolfsburg, strange things begin happening to the teenage daughter Jordan, much to the enjoyment of her monster-loving brother, Hunter. The Nickelodeon film stars Victoria Justice as Jordan, and a great appearance by Brooke Shields as Madame Varcolac. According to Amazon, The Boy Who Cried Werewolf should be available on DVD soon.

Girl vs. Monster - Teenager Skylar is not afraid of anything. This is because her monster hunter parents have trapped her personal monster, Deimata. Unfortunately, Deimata doesn't stay trapped, so Skylar must learn to conquer her fears to save her family and friends.

Frankenweenie - This fun yet spooky Tim Burton movie, filmed entirely in black and white, is an homage to the classic Frankenstein. When young Victor loses his best friend/dog Sparky, he'll do anything to bring him back. While things don't start out exactly as planned, by the end, everyone in town is moved by the devotion between Victor and Sparky.

Hotel Transylvania - Dracula has created a castle/resort hotel to keep his fellow monsters, and especially his daughter Mavis, hidden and safe from the humans of the world. Unfortunately for Drac, a human backpacker named Johnny stumbles upon the Hotel and may crash Mavis' party. Hilarity ensues as Johnny's appearance causes mayhem galore.
