Disney's Not So Spooky Spectacular Is A Spooky Delight

Is anyone else missing the fireworks and projections of Disney's Not So Spooky Spectacular? It's my favorite part of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Fortunately, Disney has shared a video from last year's show. It's like having the best seat in the house. (This video has since been removed.)

Chicken Guy At Disney Springs Is Fantastic

    Chicken Guy

I've been wanting to try Chicken Guy, Guy Fieri's restaurant in Disney Springs, for some time. I finally had the chance to eat there a few weeks ago, and I'm glad I did. It was so good!

    Chicken Guy Menu

There are several different chicken options on the menu, as well as a couple of sides and a few milk shakes. But the most difficult part is deciding which of the 22 sauces to try.

Chivken Tenders and Fried Pickle Chips

We settled on the Five Chicken Tenders with Sweet 'N' Sour Sauce and the Fried Pickle Chips with Buttermilk Ranch. It was plenty for the two of us to share. The chicken tenders were delicious, as was the sauce. The fried pickles were fantastic, although a little spicier than I expected, which made me grateful for ranch sauce.

    Chicken Guy

In all, we really enjoyed eating at Chicken Guy. It's a great, inexpensive addition to Disney Springs. I look forward to eating there again.

The Desserts & Champagne Booth At EPCOT Is Fantastic!

Marketplace - Desserts and Champagne booth

This year's Taste of EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival has several incredible dishes, but my favorite culinary delights could all be found in the World Showcase Pavilion. The Marketplace - Desserts and Champagne booth has the most decadent chocolate treats. We tried two different Liquid Nitro Chocolate Cake Pops, which was crazy because they're absolutely huge! I was not expecting them to be over 3 inches across and completely covered in chocolate and crushed candy, but they were. Can you believe they're only $4 each?

Crumbled Twix Liquid Nitro Chocolate Cake Pop

When they hand you the cake pop, the cold is still trailing off the cake. This is the one with crumbled Twix. I really enjoyed it, but it was almost too much.

Crushed M&M Liquid Nitro Chocolate Cake Pop

The crushed M&M cake pop was also wonderful and icily colorful, although like the Twix version, it was so rich that we couldn't quite finish it.

    Frozen S'mores

We also tried the Frozen S'mores drink, which is super chocolatey with mini marshmallows and a graham cracker on top. Overall, if you're looking for something decadent at a reasonable price, try the Desserts and Champagne booth. You'll be glad you did!

The Halloween Character Cavalcades In The Magic Kingdom Are Fantastic

I love the parade at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, so I was sorry that I'd have to miss it this year. Luckily, Disney turned a few of the character cavalcades into a mini Boo To You Halloween Parade. You can always tell one of these fun little parades is headed your way when you hear the Halloween music.

    Jack and Sally

The first parade I saw was a Nightmare Before Christmas float with Jack Skellington, Sally, and Oogie Boogie.

    Oogie Boogie

The next had dancers from the Boo To You Halloween Parade:

    Boo To You Parade dancers

Sugar Rush Racers, Haunted Mansion Gravediggers, Pirates, and Steampunk characters.

    Mickey & Pals

There was a float with Mickey and his pals Minnie, Pluto, Donald, and Daisy in their Halloween costumes.

    Villains

The final Halloween parade was filled with villains. Gaston, the Queen of Hearts, Captain Hook, and Bowler Hat Guy marched along before a float with even more villains.

    Villains

Jafar, Maleficent, and the Evil Queen rode along on the Chernabog float.

    Villains Evil Queen

I adore these character cavalcades parades. They are frequent and fun and a perfect little piece of Halloween throughout the day.

The Croods: A New Age Trailer and Poster Are Hilarious

    DreamWorks

The Croods are coming back to theaters for another prehistoric adventure. They survived the end of their world in the first movie, now they're on the lookout for a new home. And it turns out, they're not alone.

Here's the official synopsis from DreamWorks:

The Croods have survived their fair share of dangers and disasters, from fanged prehistoric beasts to surviving the end of the world, but now they will face their biggest challenge of all: another family.

The Croods need a new place to live. So, the first prehistoric family sets off into the world in search of a safer place to call home. When they discover an idyllic walled-in paradise that meets all their needs, they think their problems are solved … except for one thing. Another family already lives there: the Bettermans.

The Bettermans (emphasis on the “better”)—with their elaborate tree house, amazing inventions and irrigated acres of fresh produce—are a couple of steps above the Croods on the evolutionary ladder. When they take the Croods in as the world’s first houseguests, it isn’t long before tensions escalate between the cave family and the modern family.

Just when all seems lost, a new threat will propel both families on an epic adventure outside the safety of the wall, one that will force them to embrace their differences, draw strength from each other and forge a future together.

The Croods: A New Age features the voice talent of returning stars Nicolas Cage as Grug Crood, Catherine Keener as Ugga Crood, Emma Stone as their daughter, Eep; Ryan Reynolds as Eep’s boyfriend, Guy; Clark Duke (Hot Tub Time Machine) as Thunk and Cloris Leachman as Gran. They’re joined by new stars Peter Dinklage (HBO’s Game of Thrones) as Phil Betterman, Leslie Mann (Blockers) as Hope Betterman, and Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: Episode VIII-The Last Jedi) as their daughter, Dawn.

    DreamWorks

The Croods: A New Age arrives in theaters on November 25, 2020.

A WandaVision Trailer Is Finally Here!

    Disney
It has been a very strange year so far, with many movies and television shows being understandably delayed. Fortunately, the first Marvel DisneyPlus spinoff from the MCU looks like it is finally moving closer to a release date. And it appears to be the perfect fit for this wacky year.

Here's the official synopsis from Disney and Marvel:

Welcome to WandaVision. Coming soon to Disney+. Marvel Studios' captivating new series "WandaVision" stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, and marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+. The series is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision - two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives - begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.

    Disney
The Mandalorian is a series from the Star Wars universe found only on DisneyPlus. The first season was incredible, full of action and adventure, and of course that adorable creature known as the Child. (Although fans like to call him Baby Yoda.) The second season looks like it will be equally amazing.

The Mandalorian returns to DisneyPlus on October 30th.

This Frozen Apple Cider Is Perfect For Halloween

The Frozen Apple Cider at Rosie’s All-American Cafe in Hollywood Studios was not quite what I was expecting. It was a lot better. Instead of just an apple slush, they top it with green apple boba pearls in addition to the poison apple glow cube in one of 3 colors: red, green, or purple. The pearls are a delightful addition that really add to the drink and they make it look like a bubbling potion to boot. At the moment, the only way to get this drink is by ordering through the mobile app, and it's a little pricey at $8.99, but I think its definitely worth it.

The Regal Eagle Smokehouse Is Amazing

I finally had the chance to try the Regal Eagle Smokehouse in the American Adventure Pavilion at EPCOT yesterday and I really enjoyed it. At the moment, it looks like you have to use the Mobile Order system in the Disney World app, but its actually pretty easy. And you don't have to pay with a credit card, you can also use a Disney Giftcard or even  Dining Plan credits.

After ordering, head to the restaurant and check in so they'll start preparing your order. An alert will appear when your order is ready, telling you where to pick it up. Give your name to the cast member at the door, and they'll let you go in.

The menu has really changed from the years when this location was the Liberty Inn, as has the decor. Muppet Sam Eagle is now the proprietor and he's hosting a barbecue cook-off. The menu is made up of regional barbecue favorites, from chicken or pork butt, to mac and cheese or baked beans. The walls are covered in awards and artwork, some featuring various Muppets.

Half Chicken and Mac and Cheese

I tried the Kansas City Smoked Half-Chicken with Sizzlin' Pit sauce, garlic toast and mac and cheese as the side. At $13.99, it's not too pricey, and the portions are fairly large, so this is a great meal to share. The chicken was tender and well cooked and the mac and cheese was cheesy and delicious. And the sauce was a perfect blend of sweet and savory.

Here's the rest of the menu. I can't wait to try it all!

    • Memphis Dry-Rub Pork Ribs $15.99
    • BBQ Burger $13.49
    • Cheeseburger $13.49
    • Sliced Texas Beef Brisket Sandwich $12.99
    • North Carolina Chopped Smoled Pork Butt Platter $12.49
    • Power Greens Salad With Chicken $11.49
    • Power Greens Salad $9.49
    • BBQ Jackfruit Burger $12.99
All entrees, except the salads, come with or on Garlic Toast and include a side of your choice:
    • Beer-battered Onion Rings
    • Baked Beans with Burnt Ends
    • Creamy Coleslaw
    • Seasoned French Fries
    • Macaroni and Cheese

Kids meals come with 2 side and choice of beverage.

    • BBQ Rib $8.99
    • Cheeseburger $7.79
    • BBQ Chicken Leg $7.99
    • Chicken Salad $7.49

    Desserts and Beverages include:

    • Banana Pudding $4.99
    • Fresh Watermelon Cup $4.99
    • Fountain Sodas $3.99
    • Hot Coffee, Cocoa, or Tea $3.29
    • Berry Punch, made up of white grape, strawberry, peach, and blackberry juices $4.49
    • Assorted Beers and Wines, and a Tennessee Lemonade Cocktail

I've loved the various barbecue restaurants at Disney World for years. The Regal Eagle Smokehouse is definitely my new favorite. I can't wait to try it again.
